The Dissolved Oxygen Meter has many applications in agriculture, wastewater treatment, industrial processes, environmental monitoring, research and development. All life in rivers and ponds requires dissolved oxygen to survive. Freshwater fish require DO above 5 mg/l and are stressed below that level. Low levels of DO indicate water that cannot support life. When algae decomposes bacteria consume the dissolved oxygen. Dissolved oxygen is an important measurement to monitor pond health.
