They are equipped with IP54 protection which shields the meter from damage from water and dust.

The Starter 300 D Dissolved Oxygen Meter provides accurate and reliable DO measurement, critical to water quality and aquatic life. It's easy to use with a simple calibration process, automatic temperature compensation and fast results. Ideal for secure field use with a meter stand, wrist strap and durable IP54 housing. 30 measurement library for storing data.

The Dissolved Oxygen Meter has many applications in agriculture, wastewater treatment, industrial processes, environmental monitoring, research and development. All life in rivers and ponds requires dissolved oxygen to survive. Freshwater fish require DO above 5 mg/l and are stressed below that level. Low levels of DO indicate water that cannot support life. When algae decomposes bacteria consume the dissolved oxygen. Dissolved oxygen is an important measurement to monitor pond health.

This is a great, simple product for students, interns and volunteers to take into the field.
